Til Death Do I Part

My dearest once-upon-a-time love,
thank you for the gifts
you so graciously bestowed.

For the dancing flames of Passion,
warming me to my core and
soothing the aches within my bones.

For the fluctuating peaks of Doubt.
Like hail beating and bruising every inch of exposed skin
leaving me raw and unsure of step.

And lastly, for the gift of sweet Release.
It’s caress cleansing, a honey taste upon my lips,
with the smell of freedom hanging in the air.

With these, that you entrusted to me,
I shall take great care.

Every one a ridged gem waiting for its debut
to become a precious jewel.
Their shine unique, each with it’s own light.

As you granted these one by one,
a convergence was carelessly overlooked.
That as the scintillations merged,
the greatest gift of all unveiled,
a blinding star in the darkest of night.

Faith.
Not a Faith in other but a Faith in Self.
An unwavering stability in All That Is and All That I Am.
The strength from which I rise and the foundation from which I stand.

I bow to thee,
a curtsy on my way.
I vow to you, these gifts I shall cherish forth
til death do I part.
